$17/hr - $22/hrNEOGOV is seeking a Laborer for the Public Works Department in the Town of Medley, FL. The Laborer will perform various tasks under supervision, including maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and operating equipment for the Public Works Department.

Responsibilities
Maintains, repairs, and cleans facilities, vehicles, and equipment of the Public Works Department
Assists in the maintenance and/or repair of the Town’s roadways
Perform general landscaping duties including mowing, edging, raking, trimming trees and shrubs, laying sod, and weeding
Operates equipment commonly used in maintenance, such as trucks, lifts, trailers, lawn equipment, arrow and message board, forklift, ladders, and power tools
Perform routine maintenance on hand-operated and power equipment, such as mowers, push mowers, blowers, generators, etc
Carries out seeding, fertilizing, soil, watering, mulching, weed control, and pruning as necessary
Collect and dispose of solid waste from right-of-way and grounds, pick up litter from premises and dead animals from roads
Repairs and replaces Town properties such as driveways, sidewalks, curbs, roads, and swales
Install trees and shrubbery to maintain landscaping throughout the Town
Install new and old no parking signs
From time to time, the laborer shall assist in the repair of water line breaks, sewer line breaks, stormwater facility damage, and the installation of piping and meters at sites of new construction
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Current CPR and First Aid Training (must obtain within 3 months of hire)
Understand Town policies, rules, and procedures
Ability to establish, maintain and promote effective working relationships with subordinates, other agencies, co-workers, and the public
The use and care of standard non-powered and powered hand tools generally used in the repair and maintenance of the Public Works Department
Preferred
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Experience in the operation of Heavy Equipment preferred
