Security Officer - Logistics Patrol Driver

Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, and operational disruptions
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout warehouses, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access
Control access at gates, entrances, and vehicle checkpoints by verifying identification, logging entries and exits, and following site access protocols
Monitor and report inbound and outbound truck and trailer activity, including checking for proper authorization to enter staging areas and/or pick up loads
Perform interior and exterior rounds to observe for unsecured doors, broken seals, unusual conditions, and other security-related concerns, and report findings per post orders
Maintain detailed logs and complete shift reports, incident reports, and dispatch communications using site systems and/or required documentation
Provide directions and assistance to drivers, contractors, and employees, including communicating site rules for parking, staging, and pedestrian traffic routes
Support emergency and non-emergency response activities by contacting appropriate personnel and/or public services and assisting with scene control as directed
Operate security-related equipment such as radios, access control devices, and surveillance systems as required by the site
Enforce site policies related to restricted areas, prohibited items, and after-hours access in a courteous and professional manner
Work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including walking and standing for extended periods during patrols and post assignments
Qualification
Required
A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
Preferred
A Guard Card and/or license is preferred
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred
