Benefit Programs Supervisor

NEOGOV is seeking a Benefit Programs Supervisor to assist individuals and families in navigating Benefit Programs such as SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid. Responsibilities

Coaches and trains staff to achieve performance excellence in customer service and benefit eligibility determination
Equipping staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate complex program policies and procedures
Managing change and facilitating the adjustments needed for the team to seamlessly embrace new practices and benefit program policies
Develop efficient workflows for ongoing program development/caseload management
Constantly seeking ways to optimize processes and enhance productivity
Monitoring program effectiveness through the review and evaluation of data
Utilizing various program evaluation methods to identify areas for improvement and ensure desired outcomes are met
Handling complex and challenging cases, making informed decisions on difficult and unusual situations that require specialized expertise
Serving as a vital liaison to other agencies and workgroups, fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless coordination across different entities
Monitoring the expenditures of the unit's programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to budget allocations
Managing an Emergency Shelter Team during natural disasters, reporting to shelter duty as required to provide essential support and services to affected individuals
Performing other duties as required to support the overall mission and objectives of the department

Required

Bachelor's degree in the human services field and human services program experience in a lead or supervisory capacity OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Working knowledge of computer systems and standard office software to include the state Department of Social Services human services systems
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of effective supervision, to include casework supervision
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required

Preferred

Excellent organizational, time management, oral/written communication, interpersonal, public relations and supervisory skills preferred
Ability to plan and supervise work activities, including service delivery, training, recordkeeping duties, and organizational operations preferred
Considerable experience in determining eligibility for social services benefit programs preferred
Experience as a Lead or Senior worker preferred
Knowledge of IV-E foster care, Medicaid, and other Federal, State, and local regulations preferred
Knowledge of public assistance programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Child Care, General Relief, and Refugee Assistance preferred
The ability to review cases, policies and procedures for accuracy, efficiency and quality assurance
Broad awareness of current trends in management consulting, organizational development, and administration of public and private for-profit organization
