Responsibilities
Build/lead team that maintains relationships with key payers, health systems, and other stakeholders to negotiate favorable coverage and reimbursement policies
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of national, regional and local coverage and reimbursement issues for Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial payers through acquisition and analysis of external data, internal meetings, payer research, customer meetings
Lead field reimbursement function that provides education to healthcare providers, lab professionals, office staff and financial decision makers on Cepheid diagnostics coverage, coding and reimbursement landscape
Respond to and coordinate with sales colleagues’ requests for virtual / on-site customer business reviews, coverage and reimbursement support
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) provide education/training to internal (CEPH) cross-functional colleagues on reimbursement issues and policies
Ensure cross-functional coordination to identify clinical and economic value story needs to optimize and accelerate coverage and reimbursement
Oversee team operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience or a master's degree/Ph.D. with at least 12+ years of relevant experience in health policy, biological sciences, or a relevant field AND 4+ years managing people
10+ years of experience in Market Access roles
Demonstrated knowledge of all payer segments (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
Demonstrated experience in building and managing teams
Preferred
Experience working with laboratories, diagnostics, or medical device manufacturers
Experience with infectious diseases, women's health / sexual health, or virology
Experience working for a health insurance plan
