Responsibilities
Under direction of the Lead Permit Manager, manage building and land use projects from application to Certificate of Occupancy issuance; answer technical code questions; make engineering value judgements; manage retrofit building and fire rehab application approvals; review small project specifications for adherence to submittal requirements; receive, monitor, and resolve customer complaints; coordinate plan reviews and approvals with all appropriate staff; and manage coverage of the ACD telephone system
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and four (4) years of technical experience in engineering, permitting, plan review, surveying, computer assisted design, drafting, project management or a related field
OR Associate's degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, Drafting, Statistics, Logistics, or similar discipline, and two (2) years of technical experience in engineering, permitting, plan review, surveying, computer assisted design, drafting, project management or a related field
OR Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, Drafting, Statistics, Logistics, or similar discipline, and technical experience in engineering, permitting, plan review, surveying, computer assisted design, drafting, project management or a related field
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire
Valid State of Alaska Driver's License and satisfactory Driving Record
