Responsibilities

Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical calls for service, and suspicious activity within a retail and mall location
Conduct regular and random patrols of sales floors, common areas, loading and receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity
Maintain a high-visibility presence while performing armed duties in accordance with Allied Universal post orders, training standards, and all applicable laws and regulations
Monitor cameras, alarms, and access points where applicable, and initiate appropriate notifications and response actions per site procedures
Control access to restricted areas such as stockrooms, offices, and receiving areas, verifying authorization for employees, vendors, and contractors
Assist with shoplifting and fraud response by observing, documenting, and reporting suspicious behavior, and coordinating with store management and/or law enforcement as directed
Perform customer and employee escorts as requested, including escorts of closing staff and cash transfers when assigned by site procedures
Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation in a timely manner using written and/or electronic reporting tools
Support emergency operations during evacuations, severe weather, fire alarms, and other site emergencies by directing people to designated areas and relaying information to leadership
Communicate clearly with site leadership, retail management, and Allied Universal supervision regarding hazards, maintenance concerns, and security-related trends noticed during patrols
Participate in daily briefings, comply with uniform and appearance standards, and maintain assigned equipment in serviceable condition, including proper care and secure storage when not in use

Required

Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Participate in industry-specific security training programs
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
