Responsibilities
Lead the design of electrical systems for commercial, residential, institutional, and mixed-use buildings
Develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems from concept through construction
Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget
Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure fully integrated designs
Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations
Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
Serve as a point of contact with clients, owners, and consultants
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
Perform site visits and provide construction administration support
Ensure compliance with NEC, NYC Electrical Code, and other applicable regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
6–12 years of relevant electrical engineering experience (MEP consulting preferred)
Strong knowledge of NYC building and electrical codes
Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Experience with high-rise residential, commercial, or complex building projects
Familiarity with sustainable, energy-efficient, and resilient design strategies
Experience with NYC permitting and agency coordination
