Responsibilities

Assist teachers, schools, and districts in delivering high-quality, standards-based reading instruction and curriculum
Conduct data analysis
Promote data-informed decision making
Provide ongoing technical assistance to strengthen literacy outcomes across the state
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in education, one year of which was as a staff advisor/specialist, administrator, supervisor or consultant in planning, developing and maintaining standards and evaluating educational and vocational curricula or educational programs in a specialized field
Completion of the DEED-approved Science of Reading Course (45 hours with Certificate of Completion) is required within one year of employment
Due to the duties assigned to a majority of these positions, applicants may be required to possess an Alaska Teacher Certificate at the time of employment and be required to maintain certification as a condition of employment
Preferred
A minimum of three years of classroom elementary teaching experience, with leadership experience overseeing elementary literacy programming at the school or district level
A valid Driver's License for driving a rental car to attend meetings, training, workshops, and professional development
