Water Treatment Operator I-II-III (depending on qualifications)
The Town of Cave Creek is dedicated to managing and protecting the public water system while providing professional growth opportunities. The Water Treatment Operator will operate the water treatment plant, conduct laboratory analyses, and perform maintenance duties to ensure optimal water quality and system functionality.

Responsibilities
Operating water treatment plant, including interpreting computer information from the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system or manually
Collect routine samples and perform a variety of laboratory tests, document results, and take appropriate actions
Perform general plant maintenance duties including general housekeeping and providing assistance to maintenance staff
Perform record keeping including keeping log books, lab books, daily total reports, inspection reports, backwash logs and chlorine residuals and inputting into electronic databases
Assists other Utility staff in performing maintenance of remote facilities
Must be able to work Seasonal shift schedule, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Standby and call-back duties required
Perform other related duties as assigned; may be called upon to assist other divisions within the Town
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
0-2 years or more of experience in the field of water quality or water operations for Level I
1-3 years or more of experience in the field of water quality or water operations for Level II
2-4 years or more of experience in the field of water quality or water operations for Level III
Must possess and maintain an unrestricted Arizona Driver's license
Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification within 6 months of hire for Level I
Must possess an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification at the time of hire for Level II
Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification within 12 months of hire for Level II
Must possess an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification at the time of hire for Level III
Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification within 12 months of hire for Level III
Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution certification within 12 months of hire for Level III
Must meet the physical standards and requirements for working in confined spaces
Operators work varied shifts requiring the availability to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends on a rotating schedule
