Editorial Assistant

Responsibilities
Communicating through written and verbal correspondence with individuals involved in the manuscript evaluation and publishing processes
Locating outside readers
Maintaining an organized system of tracking manuscripts and accompanying materials
Conducting library research
Responding to email and phone queries
Preparing manuscripts for the editorial, design, and production department
Updating authors on the status of manuscripts
Processing payment documents for the acquisitions staff
Maintaining acquisitions department database
Scheduling and attending meetings as instructed
