Responsibilities
Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility code responses as directed by site procedures
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including lobbies, corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity
Control access to designated areas by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in points
Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems, and communicate observed issues to the appropriate personnel
Assist with visitor management by providing directions, supporting check-in processes as assigned, and helping to manage lines and foot traffic in high-volume areas
Support staff with de-escalation efforts during disruptive situations, using verbal techniques and requesting additional assistance as needed
Complete detailed shift reports and incident documentation, including observations, actions taken, and notifications made, in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements
Coordinate with nursing units, administration, and local responders when requested, relaying accurate information and maintaining clear radio and/or phone communications
Perform security-related rounds and checks of doors, restricted areas, and sensitive locations, reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through the proper channels
Assist with lost and found, escorts to parking areas when available, and other service requests consistent with post orders
Follow Allied Universal and site procedures for handling prohibited items, property concerns, and evidence preservation when an incident occurs
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
