Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution environment
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications per site procedures and documenting actions taken
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, as applicable to the location
Help to deter unauthorized access by monitoring inbound and outbound traffic flow, checking doors, gates, and access points for irregularities, and reporting concerns through the proper channels
Monitor security-related systems and activity, such as CCTV and alarm panels when assigned, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision
Support shipping and receiving operations by maintaining a visible presence near docks and staging areas, observing for policy violations, and reporting suspicious activity
Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, including shift logs and patrol documentation, using site-required formats
Assist with emergency and non-emergency situations such as medical calls, fire alarms, severe weather, and evacuation events by following posted instructions and directing people to appropriate resources
Maintain professional communication with employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors, providing directions and responding to questions while following location policies
Participate in site briefings and follow post orders, contributing to continuous improvement by reporting recurring issues, damaged equipment, and maintenance concerns observed during patrols
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
