Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer (SME) is a project-based leadership role responsible for leading A&E project delivery, coordinating design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring quality and efficiency across assigned projects.
Construction
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary owner of the fabrication model, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with production requirements
Lead the generation, quality control, and timely output of production documentation
Maintain and enforce standards for drawing quality and consistency
Manage project test fits and participate in feasibility studies for pre-contract opportunities
Act as the primary project liaison for design coordination with internal teams and external consultants
Assist Project Management in project integration with all stakeholders, ensuring alignment across design, manufacturing, and construction
Participate in project value engineering exercises contributing wholistic modular design and manufacturing experience
Required working knowledge of construction and supply agreements and associated exhibits in order to assist project management in identification of risks, scope gaps, and schedule discrepancies
Coordinate with Innovation and Operations teams to facilitate accurate and complete Bill of Materials creation
Track and report on project A&E deliverables and fabrication readiness to internal stakeholders
Collaborate with Project Management to align design data output content, format, and timing with project delivery milestones
Walk the manufacturing floor regularly to review progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with project documentation
Mentor junior team members in Harbinger’s DfMA practices, BIM standards, and documentation protocols
Support onboarding, training, and skill development for junior A&E staff
Contribute to product and process R&D initiatives, including A&E operational initiatives, structured data workflow design, HPI BIM environment development, and HPI design standards development
Champion and support the implementation of A&E and HPI operational initiatives across project teams and junior A&E staff
Partner with Innovation and Operations teams to advance Harbinger’s digital fabrication and data integration capabilities
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in architectural or engineering roles within modular or offsite construction
Expert proficiency in Revit modeling and BIM coordination workflows
Strong understanding of DfMA principles and modular design constraints
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Demonstrated ability to manage complex design projects and lead cross functional coordination efforts
Demonstrated ability to manage a project schedule, identifying milestones and risks
Knowledge of California building codes and HCD submittal processes
Experience mentoring junior staff or leading small technical teams
Familiarity with offsite construction product platforms, manufacturing systems, and project delivery models
Strong technical leadership abilities and project management experience
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical presentations
Proven ability to influence and drive results through technical expertise
