Digital Media Manager
The Fines and Fees Justice Center is dedicated to ending the unjust practice of fines and fees in the justice system. The Digital Media Manager will enhance the organization's online presence through strategic digital media planning, content creation, and analytics to support advocacy and legislative priorities.
Responsibilities
Develop, execute and lead the strategy for FFJC’s social meda, including identifying how to grow audiences on various platforms, and tracking that progress
Develop creative assets and collateral including but not limited to graphics, short videos, social media toolkits, and infographics for our social media and digital channels to increase the visibility and impact of our work
Help identify opportunities for developing, leveraging and implementing creative strategies and content to advance organization-wide campaigns, targeted state campaigns and other specialized actions or events
Work in partnership with broader FFJC staff and external partners, including but not limited to advising on strategy and helping to develop communications toolkits to support advocacy, research and policy and various report roll-outs
Lead, manage and oversee FFJC’s digital media platforms, including social media strategy, online and print advertising, management of FFJC’s various websites and branded merchandise
In collaboration with other communication team members, write and develop communications assets and collateral for our audiences, including email blasts, social media toolkits and one-pagers
Manage communications assets on external programs/platforms such as Mailchimp, Canva, Sprout Social
Support management of the editorial calendar and input social media and digital tasks and strategies in relevant project management and database tools
Lead the management and continued development of FFJC’s websites, ensuring content is up to date, accessible and galvanizing to audiences and stakeholders
Monitor and evaluate performance of all digital media content, including website and social media metrics, e-blast analytics, and media placements to determine how FFJC can maximize its reach, growth, impact and engagement
Lead management and internal maintenance of FFJC websites, including relationships with developers, external consultants and applications which feed into content production across all owned FFJC properties
Compile monthly reports for all channels, including digital media impressions and growth, and make recommendations for future content strategy
Oversee FFJC’s email program, including monthly newsletter, action alerts and others
Qualification
Required
At least five years in professional communications managing digital content and social media platforms, or a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of digital content management experience
Basic graphic design skills to create social, email, and web content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite programs, or similar platforms
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, effectively communicating on project timelines, status and results
Experience with digital media CMS software and analytics tools
Experience with email campaigns and email outreach (MailChimp preferably)
Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to write clear, compelling copy on deadline for different digital formats and audiences
Ability to adapt content into both breaking news and longer-term digital campaigns
Familiar with creating, editing, and managing posts and web pages on Wordpress sites
A sense of humor, and ability to work collaboratively
Preferred
Familiarity with/demonstrated interest in criminal justice, economic and racial equity justice, economic and racial equity or related social justice issues
Experience in not-for-profit or philanthropy
Adobe Creative Suite proficiency preferred
