Team Lead - Torts Division, Tumwater
NEOGOV is seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to fill a Managing Assistant Attorney General 1 position in its Tumwater location. This role involves leading a team of attorneys and paralegals in complex litigation cases while fostering professional development and ensuring effective client representation.

Responsibilities
Lead a team of attorneys and paralegals in the Torts Division, overseeing complex litigation cases
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to attorneys of varying experience levels
Shape division-wide goals and strategies to enhance client representation and professional development
Collaborate with other leaders within the Torts Division to improve work environment and achieve client goals
Maintain a diverse and complex litigation caseload, conducting witness interviews, handling discovery, retaining and preparing experts, and developing trial strategies
Manage appeals from cases handled by the team
Communicate regularly with supervisors and the administrative office manager to provide updates and input on the work being done
Qualification
Required
An expressed interest in the practice of public sector law
Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Judgment and discretion in handling sensitive issues
Extensive mediation experience
Litigation experience, in particular as insurance defense counsel
Graduated from a law school accredited by the ABA or completed the WSBA's Rule 6 Law Clerk Program
Licensed to practice law in Washington state
Preferred
Torts litigation experience
Relevant subject matter experience may be helpful but is not required
