Daiso USA is seeking a Yard Hostler to safely operate yard trucks and manage trailer movements within the facility. The role involves ensuring proper organization of trailers, collaborating with the Warehouse and Logistics teams, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the yard.

Responsibilities

Safely operate yard trucks or hostlers to move trailers between the loading docks and designated yard locations

Ensure proper parking, staging, and organization of trailers in the yard

Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on yard trucks to ensure safe operation

Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and report any discrepancies or issues

Collaborate with the Warehouse and Logistics teams to ensure the efficient flow of goods in and out of the facility

Assist with loading and unloading as needed, following safety protocols

Monitor yard cleanliness and safety, ensuring no hazards are present

Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure proper trailer positioning for pickup or drop-off

Report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Ability to operate yard trucks or hostlers in a safe and efficient manner

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Basic understanding of safety regulations and the ability to follow safety protocols

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required

Preferred

Previous experience in yard hostling, warehouse, or logistics is preferred

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills

Forklift certification is a plus

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus
