Responsibilities
Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, helping to support a secure atmosphere for students, faculty, and visitors
Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns
Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to Allied Universal management and/or appropriate personnel
Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, helping to maintain an orderly flow of individuals throughout the location
Collaborate with campus staff and local law enforcement as needed to address security-related situations
Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and patrols as required by site-specific procedures
Qualification
Required
Be at least 21 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred
Access control or badge experience is preferred
The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred
