Responsibilities
Underwrite a portfolio of Financial Institutions business, with a focus on disciplined risk selection and profitable growth in line with the outlined underwriting strategy
Evaluate and structure coverage for complex Financial Institutions clients, including Asset Managers, PE/VC Funds, Banks, Non-banks, and Insurance Companies
Develop and negotiate policy terms, conditions, and pricing across D&O, E&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime/Fidelity, and K&R coverages
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across financials, operations, governance, and claims experience, in partnership with actuarial and claims teams to monitor trends and portfolio performance
Build and maintain strong trading relationships with key retail and wholesale brokers in the Northeast markets, supporting new business growth through targeted engagement and cross-selling
Communicate underwriting strategy and decisions clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders and external partners
Adhere to underwriting guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal best practices while delivering high-quality service to clients and brokers
Utilise underwriting systems and tools to manage workflow, documentation, and reporting
Business travel where required or necessary
Qualification
Required
2-5 years of underwriting experience in Financial Institutions, PublicCo, or Large Private
Strong understanding of FI insurance products, coverage structures, and responsible underwriting principles
Ability to analyse financial statements and assess credit, operational, and governance-related exposures
Strong relationships, or relationship-building skills, with retail or wholesale brokers and distribution partners, particularly within the Northeast
Negotiation capability and an ambitious, commercially driven approach to underwriting
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced underwriting environment
