Responsibilities
Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with onsite leadership and/or local responders as needed
Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout buildings, entrances, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations
Monitor access points and public areas, observe for unusual conditions, and report concerns according to post orders and site procedures
Control access to restricted areas when directed, including verifying identification and/or visitor authorization in accordance with site policies
Complete security-related reports and required documentation, including incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity summaries
Communicate clearly and professionally using radios, phones, and/or other systems to relay information, request assistance, and coordinate response activities
Assist with directing foot and/or vehicle traffic during high-volume periods, special events, or emergency conditions as assigned
Perform site-specific rounds and checks of doors, gates, and common areas, reporting maintenance issues and/or hazards to appropriate personnel
Support the protection of property and assets by observing, reporting, and escalating suspicious activity in line with Allied Universal and site procedures
Qualification
Required
Have at least 2 years of security-related experience
Be at least 21 years of age
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
