Survey Technician II*
NEOGOV is seeking a Survey Technician II to join the Department of Public Works, County Surveyor's Office. The role involves performing GIS, field, office, and right of way work, including reviewing and creating maps, taking measurements for surveys, and determining property boundaries.

Responsibilities

Taking measurements for construction, topographic, or boundary surveys
Determine right of way limits or property boundaries
Create and maintain parcels
Perform calculations or analysis related to land surveying activities
Qualification
Required
Successfully completed high school level (or higher) coursework in algebra, geometry, OR trigonometry
One (1) year of full-time technical Land Surveying, GIS, Civil Engineering, or closely related work experience performing tasks such as: analyzing, creating, or reviewing survey related maps; utilizing GIS to map or index various types of land records; applying the use of land surveying formulas, theories, and practices to analyze the work products produced by professional Land Surveyors; or the application of civil engineering formulas, theories and practices to construction, alteration, demolition, installation or repair work
One (1) year of full-time experience performing road construction work, making road signs and minor street calculations for a County public works or related agency
Fifteen (15) semester (23 quarter) units of completed college coursework in civil engineering, engineering construction technology, or a closely related field may substitute for six (6) months of the required experience
An additional 15 semester (23 quarter) units of completed college coursework as described above OR successful completion of the Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination may substitute for the required experience
At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced by the individual providing the transportation and maintained during the course of employment
Candidates must meet the following education AND one of the experience requirements listed below
Preferred
College coursework in civil engineering, engineering construction technology, GIS, Geomatics, Land Surveying, or a closely related field is highly desirable
Benefits
Recruitment Bonus - Newly hired employees from this recruitment may be eligible to receive bonus payments up to $2,000 ($1000 upon hire and $1000 upon completion of 2080 service hours)
Referral Bonus - Current employees in a regular position who refer a qualified candidate for this recruitment may be eligible to receive bonus payments up to $750 per referral ($250 upon hire, $500 upon new employee completing 2,080 hours)
