Facilities Technician I, II, III or Senior
The City of Frisco is seeking facilities maintenance technicians to provide general maintenance support for City facilities. The role involves repairing and maintaining building HVAC, electrical, security, lighting, plumbing, equipment, and commercial building systems under the direction of a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities
Must be able to respond to work assignment within 30 minutes when on call
Advanced knowledge of installation, maintenance and repair methods relating to commercial building repair systems/and advanced knowledge of advanced commercial HVAC systems
Knowledgeable of electrical codes applicable to the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and wiring systems
Demonstrated knowledge of Building Automation Systems/Energy Management Systems
Proficiency in the use of use of computers
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Assists in resolving facility problems and concerns
Ensures that work orders are completed in a timely manner and maintains records and reports as required
Completes daily operations reports and time sheets as assigned
Resolves repair issues in a timely and cost-effective manner, according to industry standards, relevant manufacturer’s specifications and in a safe manner
Completes maintenance activities in a timely and cost-effective manner, according to industry standards, relevant manufacturer’s specifications and in a safe manner
Operates various hand and small power tools and equipment in support of a variety of maintenance and repair operations
Must work rotating on-call assignment
Must be able to respond to work assignment within 30 minutes when on call
May be required to work evenings, nights, and weekends
Performs other related duties as assigned
Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential
Qualification
Required
Must possess and maintain a Texas Apprentice Electrician's license (Facilities Technician I)
3 years of relevant construction and/or facilities maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Facilities Technician II)
Possess and maintain a Texas Registered HVAC Technician license (Facilities Technician II)
Must possess and maintain an EPA Universal Technician license (Facilities Technician II)
3 years of relevant construction and/or facilities maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Facilities Technician III)
Possess and maintain a Texas Certified HVAC Technician license (Facilities Technician III)
Must possess and maintain an EPA Universal Technician license (Facilities Technician III)
4 years of relevant construction and/or facilities maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Senior Facilities Technician)
At least two (2) years' experience at the journeyman level in electrical and plumbing that includes progressive experience in carpentry OR building maintenance OR equivalent combination of education and experience (Senior Facilities Technician)
Must possess and maintain a Texas Journeyman's Electrician's license, or (Senior Facilities Technician)
Must possess and maintain a Texas Journeyman's Plumber's License, or (Senior Facilities Technician)
Must possess and maintain a Class A or B HVAC Contractor's license (Senior Facilities Technician)
Must possess and maintain an EPA Universal Technician license
Knowledge heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, water distribution systems, electrical systems, structural systems, and applicable code requirements
Knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering, and technical drawings, plans and specifications
Must have knowledge of pertinent federal, state and City laws, codes, and regulations
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in the use of computers, Windows-based applications used in general business and facilities management activities
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical ability test, criminal background check, and MVR check
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License
Preferred
High School Diploma or GED and vocational/technical degree with training emphasis in building trades preferred
Benefits
Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC Certification Pay
$100 per month/$1,200 annually - HVAC Contractor Class A or B
$300 per month/$3,600 annually - Master Plumber or Master Electrician
$400 per month/$4,800 annually - Combination Master Plumber or Master Electrician with HVAC Contractor Class A or B
City of Frisco benefits are available to all employees working full-time and scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week.
