Start in 2026 SummerQTS Data Centers is seeking a Development Project Engineer Intern to assist with the design, preconstruction, and construction activities on various projects. The intern will interact with multiple teams and stakeholders while gaining hands-on experience in project management and development processes.

Responsibilities
Assist Development team with day to day activities and responsibilities
Assist in maintaining updated budgets, schedules, and status reports for a given project(s)
Assist with updates on development program & project status on a monthly basis suitable for executive level reviews
Assist with entitlement and permitting needs for each assigned site project(s)
Assist with scopes of work for design, construction, commissioning services & participate in procurement and project cost estimates
Work with strategic procurement team on equipment procurement and delivery process
Ensure appropriate submittals are coordinated with site stakeholders
Assist with monitoring project budget / cost-to-date against overall project budget
Review project schedules, change orders, submittals and pricing proposals for design, construction and commissioning services
Aid in due diligence efforts on an as-needed basis by participating with real estate efforts on potential or new land banks and properties
Work with the internal development team to enhance project management processes and protocols
Qualification
Required
Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred
Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school: Auburn University, Kansas State University, Georgia State University, Southern Adventist University, Texas A&M University, University of Kansas
Previous internship or co-op experience in construction or construction adjacent fields
Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment)
