NEOGOV is seeking enthusiastic individuals for the Department of Revenue. The Revenue Field Office Clerk will assist taxpayers and their representatives with tax-related inquiries and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to taxpayers and their representatives via phone and email
Advise taxpayers on the proper manner of completing tax returns as they pertain to personal income tax and the property tax rent rebate program
Answer telephones and assist callers
Possess excellent customer service skills, as you will be working directly with the public
Be organized and have the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Proficiently navigate telephone and computer applications, as well as general office equipment
Perform arithmetic calculations
Develop and maintain effective working relationships

Required

Ability to understand and follow instructions provided orally and in tax booklets, rebate claim instructions and reference guides, and accurately communicate that information to the public
Ability to file and retrieve information on a personal computer
Ability to keep categorical log records on such information as the amount, type, or disposition of resources
You must be willing to work in the Pittsburgh field office, located at 411 7th Avenue, Suite 420, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
You must be interested in a temporary position with an anticipated end date approximately 4-6 months after the start date. (May be subject to earlier end based upon operational need)
You must provide your date of birth and social security number
You must be able to perform essential job functions
This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment
