Responsibilities

To regularly inspect sub-standard commercial, industrial and office buildings, buildings under construction, and residential homes to ensure properties are in compliance with City of Little Rock Building codes

Required

Completion of high school
Two (2) years of experience in building construction, building inspection or a related area
One (2) year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, or a related area
One (1) year of computer experience
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position
Must possess Citation Authority Certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position
Must possess certification per International Code Council as a Building Inspector (Residential or Property Maintenance and Housing) within twelve (12) months of date of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position (for incumbents inspecting residential property)
Must possess certification per International Code Council as a Building Inspector (Commercial) within twelve (12) months of date of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position (for incumbents inspecting commercial property)
