Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location
Carry and handle assigned firearm and other authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws; maintain required qualifications and report any equipment concerns
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching assistance, providing clear directions to visitors, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, galleries, public areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations
Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation; communicate security-related information promptly to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision
Qualification
Required
Have 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience
Possess an armed guard card and/or license
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Participate in industry-specific security training programs
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred
Having alarm panel experience is preferred
Having customer service experience is preferred
