Biological Sciences (Anatomy) Instructor (Full-time, Tenure-Track)

Responsibilities
Teach day, evening, and/or Saturday lecture and laboratory sections of general human anatomy to students entering the allied health care professions, in coordination with other instructors
Execute cadavers dissection and maintain cadavers, cadaver pro-sections, and anatomical and anthropological educational preparations
Serve as a resource of accurate human anatomy expertise and pedagogy to support the development and revitalization of curricula, programs, and outreach related to the field of anatomy
Maintain standards of professional knowledge, conduct, and ethics appropriate to the position, Department, and College
Work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues in activities required of full-time faculty including, but not limited to, committee work, curriculum and program development, assessment of student learning, maintaining appropriate records, submitting required forms and community outreach
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
Earned Master's degree from an accredited institution in any Biological Science with a minimum of 24 semester units of upper division or graduate level coursework/experience in Anatomy and/or Physiology including each of the following areas: Gross Anatomy, Microscopic Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Embryology, Mammalian Physiology, Basic electronic or Physiology laboratory equipment
Preferred
A strong academic record of undergraduate upper division and graduate coursework in human gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, neuroanatomy, developmental anatomy, sectional anatomy, and mammalian physiology
Undergraduate upper division and/or graduate coursework in biological anthropology and/or forensic anatomy
Community College teaching experience
Verifiable experience in teaching and coordinating in-person, university-parallel lecture and laboratory courses in human anatomy
Verifiable record of scholarship in biological sciences
Demonstrated skills in producing and maintaining cadaver pro-sections, cadaver cross-sections, and anatomical museum preparations
Demonstrated skills in the development and use of computerized/digital anatomy instructional programs
Demonstrated skills in the development of curriculum and assessment of student learning
Evidence of in-person instructional experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy
Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students
