ELECTRICIAN (Full time w/Benefits)

Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is seeking an Electrician to perform a full range of functions related to the installation, modification, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various electrical wiring systems and fixtures, while ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots, installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, related switches, switch gear, distribution panels and outlet boxes, circuits, as well as wide variety of electrical fixtures, motors, and electrically operated equipment
Follows maintenance schedule and inspections or work orders; performs maintenance services, diagnoses system or equipment malfunction and repairs as necessary
Inspects, maintains, cleans, repairs, tests and adjusts electrical buzzer and bell circuits, light sockets, lighting fixtures, fans, switches, office and heating drills, grinders and shop equipment
Tests circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, megger and ohmmeter
Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles and installs conduits, inserting, splicing and connecting wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles and power source
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

One year of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform basic electrical work such as repairing electrical wiring systems and switches, etc
Five years of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform a full range of electrician functions in connection with installation, modification, and/or repair of electrical systems and electrically operated equipment etc
One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience
Is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions where parts of systems worked on are in hard-to-reach places
Frequently lifts, carries and sets up tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 20 pounds; occasionally may lift or carry items weighing over 20 pounds
