The Fire Alarm Designer is responsible for using AutoCAD and other design software to create accurate and clear design documents, schematics, and layouts of fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

Design and specify detailed fire alarm and clean agent fire suppression systems adhering to local, state, and national codes, regulations, and standards
Perform field surveys and attend project specific meetings
Conduct thorough reviews of construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with the scope of work and jurisdictional requirements
Provide expert technical advice and solutions to complex design challenges
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and client teams to ensure specifications and designs meet quality and safety standards
Manage and oversee multiple design projects from concept through completion
Prepare design packages for permit applications and make corrections as needed
Maintain strong working relationships with the Hiller technicians and office staff to facilitate effective communications and exceptional customer service
Stay updated with latest technologies and changes in fire protection regulations
Other duties as assigned

Required

Experience using AutoCAD and other design software
Knowledge of local, state, and national codes, regulations, and standards related to fire alarm systems
Ability to perform field surveys and attend project specific meetings
Experience conducting thorough reviews of construction drawings and specifications
Ability to provide expert technical advice and solutions to complex design challenges
Experience collaborating with project managers, engineers, and client teams
Ability to manage and oversee multiple design projects from concept through completion
Experience preparing design packages for permit applications
Strong communication skills to maintain relationships with technicians and office staff
Ability to stay updated with latest technologies and changes in fire protection regulations
