Responsibilities

The Aircraft Mechanic Egress (AME) performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components and equipment
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed
Maintains FA-18E/F, EA-18G, E-2C and MH-60S aircraft in accordance with Navy, manufacturer and company distributors
Responsible for all egress system on and off equipment maintenance
Removes, transports, inspects, repairs and reinstalls ejection seats
Inspects, repairs and cleans seat harnesses
Inventories, stores, removes and replaces seat CAD/PAD explosive items
Maintains environmental system on
Maintains, inspects canopy explosive devices
Maintains and inspects on board oxygen generating system (OBOGS) & Liquid Oxygen (LOX)
Performs aircraft scheduled/unscheduled on and off equipment maintenance
Performs aircraft corrosion control procedures to include wash, wipe down, polish and vacuum
Operates GSE, flight line vehicles and other support equipment as required
Drives tugs for the purpose of towing equipment and aircraft
Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF System
Orders aircraft/equipment parts
Supervises/assists in aircraft/equipment movement and flight line foreign object prevention walks
Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times
Shall perform other job-related duties as may be assigned

Required

Minimum two (2) years' recent experience in ejection seat maintenance and two (2) years recent egress system repair experience
Must have F-18 (SJU-17 NACES seat) aircraft maintenance experience
Shall be a graduate of a Navy AME “A” school and CENNAVAVNTECTRAU for specific T/M/S or factory equivalent ejection seat course of instruction
Shall be qualified on ground support equipment applicable to the specialty
Shall be familiar with Navy technical publications
Capable of conducting on-the-job training and maintenance of Contractor personnel seat/cockpit safety checkout training records; and shall be experienced and qualified in the removal and replacement of ejection seats, canopies and explosive devices, both “I” and “0” levels
Valid State Driver's License
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions and special tools and test equipment
Prior military personnel must present a member 4 DD214 with an Honorable character of service discharge
Must be able to obtain and maintain government required clearance and certifications
Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules
