L&I IT Architect, Senior/Specialist

This role involves collaborating with multiple IT teams and business areas to modernize complex IT systems and provide technical oversight for voice and video services.

Responsibilities

Provide voice and video services Infrastructure technical architecture and system engineering. Analyze and coordinates the research, management, design and development of agency, voice and video technology standards
Research new information technology products and services related to voice and video services for on premise and cloud environments
Develop, organize, and present voice and video technologies technical proposals to IS management, agency management and others
Coordinate the implementation and integration of new technologies into our environment
Analyze, research, and recommend the agency’s IT voice and video services upgrades and plan
Work across multiple IT teams and business areas
Analyze agency-wide infrastructure changes and their impacts on staff and customers
Recommend efficient integration and implementation approaches
This position is the go-to person that executive management calls on to lead new voice and video services initiatives and present new technologies at the highest levels
Provide project architectural oversight for implementation efforts related to IT voice and video services and infrastructure systems as needed. Understand project management processes and documentation
Provide facilitation, clarification, and instigate cooperation amongst peer groups
Provide customers with clear, concise, and easily understood knowledge and documentation of changes
Perform self-study technical research and industry direction assessments
Attend technical training required to maintain the necessary expertise

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field AND six (6) years of progressive (full-time equivalent) qualifying IT work experience
OR An associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field AND eight (8) years of progressive (full-time equivalent) qualifying IT work experience
OR Ten (10) years of qualifying IT work experience working full time in a customer serviced-focused technology organization
At least six (6) years of experience with the following: Supporting a large voice enterprise infrastructure environment with 500+ users
At least six (6) years of experience with the following: IT architecture framework and governance processes
At least six (6) years of experience with the following: Researching and implementing emerging voice and video technologies to meet the business needs of the organization
At least six (6) years of experience with the following: Working with in and following organization's business processes and policies
At least six (6) years of experience with the following: Examining and/or coordinating the direct resolution of highly sophisticated IT voice infrastructure technical problems and communicating results to management and technical staff
At least one (1) year of experience with the following: Designing and engineering cloud solutions on any of the primary cloud platforms such as: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform
At least one (1) year of experience with the following: Project management experience and/or knowledge of standard project management methods and processes
The ability to take action to learn and grow
The ability to take action to meet the needs of others

Preferred

Ability to perform investigative research and analysis, including being able to sift through a great deal of information to find the actual source(s) of a business problem related to technology, and then act independently to resolve the problem or develop a plan to resolve the problem
Experience with consulting techniques and practices, including listening, understanding & interpretation of business objectives, needs analysis, research, understanding & interpretation of technical specifications, developing proposals, writing reports, working with a variety of people, providing good customer service, and training customers with a wide variety of technical knowledge
Ability to work well with a wide variety of people, including clerical staff, business/program staff, division/region management staff, peers, and other agency staff as well as outside vendors and staff in a variety of technical disciplines. Must be able to function as part of a team, build rapport, and provide excellent customer service
