Millwright Mechanic Apprentice
Central Arizona Project (CAP) is a vital organization that supplies Colorado River water to central and southern Arizona. They are seeking a Millwright Mechanic Apprentice to undergo a five-year training program, learning mechanical skills for the maintenance and repair of heavy industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities
Learn to maintain, install, overhaul, improve, troubleshoot, test, calibrate, and repair heavy industrial equipment
Learn to install, modify and repair various piping types and systems
Learn to be highly proficient in the use and selection of tools and equipment such as precision measuring devices, calibrating equipment, precision leveling devices and alignment equipment
Learn to perform all types of welding, burning, soldering, brazing, and become knowledgeable of AWS and ASME codes and requirements
Learn to interpret and work from manuals, procedures, schematic drawings, diagrams, and technical shop blueprints
Learn the proper safety procedures to operate overhead cranes and hoists, using proper crane signaling, and perform the necessary rigging required
Learn to implement safe clearance procedures
Learn proper documentation procedures of maintenance activities
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or high school equivalency (G.E.D.)
Minimum of one year (two semesters) of high school algebra or one semester of college level algebra (MAT 092 – Introductory Algebra) with a minimum grade of 'C.'
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
Preferred
Documentation of related field experience in the construction or maintenance trades
Certificates issued for vocation competency
