Responsibilities
Provide engaging, standards-aligned, hands-on instruction that connects FCA content to real-life applications and careers
Design learning experiences that develop employability skills (communication, collaboration, problem solving, responsibility)
Maintain a safe, organized lab/classroom environment and teach/monitor appropriate safety procedures
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and use assessment data to guide instruction
Build strong relationships and communicate consistently with students and families
Collaborate with colleagues to support students through strong instructional practices and MTSS/RT1 systems
Support and maintain CTE requirements as applicable (program documentation, industry connections, leadership opportunities such as FCCLA, etc., as assigned)
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Valid Washington State teaching certificate (or eligible)
CTE Certification appropriate to teach Family & Consumer Science (or eligible/willing to obtain)
Strong classroom management and the ability to maintain a safe, productive learning environment
Strong instructional, communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Preferred
Family & Consumer Science endorsement/CTE area aligned to assignment preferred
One additional endorsement preferred to support a full schedule (e.g., Mathematics 4-12, Physical Education/Health, Science (Middle Level or 4-12)
Experience with AVID strategies and/or AVID implementation
Experience designing project-based learning and assessing students through practical tasks and demonstrations
Willingness to contribute to student activities, clubs, leadership opportunities and/or athletics (based on interest and availability)
