System Engineer (M365/Azure and VMware)

Responsibilities
Develops and maintains a deep understanding of All South’s solutions, applications, infrastructure, and overall company mission and objectives
Maintains all public, private and hybrid cloud servers and associated environments, email (Microsoft 365/Exchange), and any associated platforms owned by the Credit Union
Maintains, troubleshoots, and supports Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, MS SQL Databases, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, EntraID, Teams, and backup software
Manages the data center and all associated equipment, including hardware, software, and related applications
Participates in and performs on premise to cloud-based and cloud to cloud migrations
Researches, recommends, and implements innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks
Implements, tests, and troubleshoots Active Directory Group Policies (GPOs) and other policies utilized by workstation and server endpoints
Maintains and performs systems backups, data recovery, and any associated configurations, which include replications and archivals
Maintains SAN (Storage Area Network) environments in both Operations Center (HQ) and Disaster Recovery sites, ensuring proper data replication continuity
Recommends, schedules, and performs hardware and software upgrades in a timely manner, including system security patches
Installs all equipment with appropriate security features/tools following hardening standards, and resolves security issues/vulnerabilities related to the server, storage, and associated environments
Maintains user environments, file shares, and their associated permissions
Provides end-user-support for all hardware, software, and peripheral devices
Works within the IT Help Desk and project management platforms by assuming, updating, and resolving escalated service requests and projects. Mentors and provides guidance to other team members on requests/projects
Extends professional, courteous, and timely support and service to IT peers, end users, and business departments
Oversees Credit Union Infrastructure related device inventory (servers, storage, network devices, etc.)
Prioritizes and escalates problems to the appropriate person(s) when necessary
Ensures data replication is up to date, configured, and performing as expected
Supports patch management infrastructure to ensure that patches are applied according to standard security requirements. Troubleshoots and remediates any associated patching related issues
Manages, coordinates, and executes projects of various scopes and sizes, along with associated tasks, as assigned by supervisor
Produces and maintains high quality standard operating procedures (SOPs), network diagrams, and other documentation
Deploys servers, environments and installs appropriate software in accordance with IT and Security policies
Develops, tests, and maintains scripts/automations to streamline business and team workflows
Provides after-hours and weekend on-call support for Credit Union systems on a rotating basis
Prepares various types of correspondence, completes/creates required reports/records accurately and promptly, and performs other administrative duties as necessary
Keeps supervisor and other team members informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
Assists IT and IT Security personnel, as well as other departments/branches, as needed
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, trade professionals, and other business contacts
Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained
Stays abreast of technology trends and changes and remains compliant with all programs, policies, procedures, and regulations
Maintains confidentiality of Credit Union/member/employee information in accordance with policies
Maintains regular work attendance
Completes other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Azure and/or Microsoft 365 certifications
VMware VCP/VCAP Certification(s) or other related certification(s)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
At least three (3) years of IT infrastructure/systems administration experience working with VMware and server hardware and software, preferably in a financial institution
Preferred
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Cisco Network Certification(s) or other related certification(s) preferred
VMware: 3 years (Preferred)
Azure: 3 years (Preferred)
Microsoft Dynamics 365: 3 years (Preferred)
Automation/Scripting: 3 years (Preferred)
Project Management: 3 years (Preferred)
on-prem environments: 3 years (Preferred)
