Team Leader (Greenways & Natural Lands)
NEOGOV is seeking a Team Leader for their Greenways and Natural Lands department. The role involves supervising crews in maintenance and construction projects across parks and natural land properties, ensuring quality work and safety compliance.

Responsibilities
Supervises an assigned area that may include construction projects, carpentry work, landscape, utility work or maintenance. Supervises, schedules and coordinates activities of work crews
Directs work of staff performing work details, boardwalk construction, concrete work, pressure cleaning/painting and maintenance of sidewalks, fencing, irrigation systems, electrical work, plumbing and mowing/maintenance of parks and trails. May operate equipment to complete park construction and maintenance projects
Assists in projects, maintenance repairs to specifications to ensure quality work and conditions with approval from the Parks and Trails Project Manager
Inspects work in progress, modifies or adjusts work methods as necessary and instructs crews in all phases of parks and trail maintenance and construction projects including job safety. May be required to perform emergency or weekend duties
Completes all appropriate paperwork and reports as directed. Including but not limited to daily timesheets
Prepare scope and reviews material and installation quotes, scopes and bids from vendors and manufacturers
Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and drawings which accompany assignments as required. Submits application for building Permits
May initiate and recommend to Trails and Parks Project Manager hiring, termination, performance evaluations, disciplinary, and commendatory actions for assigned staff
Perform other related work as required, and operate other equipment as assigned to complete parks and trail construction and maintenance projects
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Three (3) years of experience in maintenance and construction field
One (1) year of supervisory experience
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to operate equipment
Effectively supervise personnel
Understand and transmit oral and written instructions effectively
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to deal with the public in an effective and cooperative manner
Considerable knowledge of the effective operation and maintenance of playground equipment
Ability to maintain equipment in good physical condition in order to satisfactorily perform job duties, occasionally under adverse weather conditions
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions
Ability to read, write and complete work records
Ability to communicate effectively with the public
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, member staff, and supervisors
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments using a PC
Knowledge needed to operate more complex and technical computer applications, such as GIS
Preferred
Experience in the maintenance and construction of Parks and Trails infrastructure

Life Insurance: Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance for employees, equal to one times annual salary. Not extended to part-time employees.
Long-Term Disability: Provides 60% of salary after 6 months of disability. Not extended to part-time employees.
Optional benefits (employee-paid) for full-time employees: Deferred Compensation Plan (457): Employees may choose to have pre-tax payroll deductions made for deposit into this savings plan up to an IRS-established maximum.
Dental Insurance: A choice of 3 plans is available for employees and dependents at employee expense.
Additional Life Insurance: At employee expense, additional life insurance up to five times annual salary; dependent coverage also available.
Short-Term Disability Insurance: 60% of salary for the first six months of disability at employee expense.
Cancer and Specified Disease: Pays a benefit directly to the employee if being treated for this disease.
Flexible Spending Account: A pre-tax account for childcare and un-reimbursed medical expenses.
Pre-Tax Payroll Deductions: Under Section 125 of the IRS Code, certain payroll deductions for insurance coverage may be taken out prior to income being taxed.
