Responsibilities
Compile and analyze financial information and prepare general ledger entries related to assets, liabilities, and net assets
Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to summarize current and projected financial position
Monitor restricted and unrestricted contributions and reconcile activity with the fundraising department
Support accounting and financial reporting for nonprofit organizations served by the agency
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including serving as backup for assigned duties within the accounting team
Assist with banking activities, including account setup, fee monitoring, positive pay exceptions, authorized signer updates, and bank reconciliation items
Prepare and support monthly management reports, including Budget vs. Actual variance analysis and related documentation
Assist with quarterly and annual bank compliance filings and preparation of financial statements
Support annual external audits and tax compliance processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited institution preferred
3-6 years of progressive accounting experience aligned with the responsibilities of this role
Strong full-cycle accounting knowledge and analytical skills
Working knowledge of GAAP and 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards)
Experience with federal funding, grants management, and functional expense reporting
Familiarity with reporting requirements for reportable charities
Experience allocating costs and expenses to reportable units
Preferred
Nonprofit accounting experience highly preferred
Public accounting or audit experience is a plus
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with Form 990 preparation, 401(k) audit and compliance, and indirect cost reporting preferred
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL is a plus
