Responsibilities

Hunt for new business opportunities targeting automotive OEMs and tier-one suppliers in powertrain, electrification, and emissions testing
Leverage existing customer relationships to expand testing programs and contract scope
Navigate and untangle medium and heavy duty CFR 1065 regulatory requirements for customers
Build relationships with engineering directors, chief engineers, and program managers at target accounts
Participate in proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations
Collaborate with operations team to ensure technical proposals align with facility capabilities
Track pipeline, forecast revenue, and report on business development metrics
Represent Excel Engineering at industry events and technical conferences

Qualification

Required

5+ years in automotive engineering, testing, or related technical sales
Proven track record hunting new business in automotive testing or engineering services
Strong understanding of CFR 1065 requirements for medium and heavy duty emissions testing
Experience with powertrain testing, emissions compliance, or vehicle development processes
Established relationships within Detroit automotive community
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred

Experience with EPA/CARB regulatory requirements and compliance processes
Network of contacts at OEMs and major tier-one suppliers
