Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, staff, parents, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including conflicts, medical situations, fire alarms, and other urgent events
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, hallways, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access
Control access by monitoring entry points, checking identification and/or visitor authorization as required, and directing visitors to appropriate areas per site policy
Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other monitoring systems when assigned, and report irregularities according to post orders
Document and report incidents, observations, and patrol activities in shift logs and written reports, and communicate pertinent information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision
Assist with building opening and/or closing procedures when assigned, including checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for proper status
Enforce site rules in a professional manner, including addressing loitering, trespassing, and policy violations, and contacting site personnel and/or local law enforcement when needed
Provide traffic and parking support during student arrival and dismissal, special events, and/or other peak periods as assigned
Participate in required training and follow post orders, including responding to drills and planned emergency response activities

Required

Be 21+ years of age
A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
Be able to ride a bike
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
