Responsibilities
Assess existing IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, cloud architecture, and on-premises systems, identifying vulnerabilities through vulnerability research and penetration testing
Design and implement comprehensive cybersecurity solutions utilizing firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools like Splunk, and encryption protocols to protect data in transit and at rest
Develop and maintain incident response plans, disaster recovery procedures, and incident management processes to ensure rapid recovery from security breaches or system failures
Manage identity & access management (IAM), including Active Directory, LDAP, RBAC policies, and multi-factor authentication to control user access securely across platforms
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as FIPS, PCI DSS, FISMA, DIACAP, COBIT, and ISO frameworks by conducting audits and implementing necessary controls
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to integrate security into SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
Monitor network traffic using network monitoring tools; analyze logs from SIEM systems; perform computer forensics when necessary; oversee incident recovery efforts

Proficiency in operating systems like Windows, Linux, macOS; scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles including network security protocols and encryption standards
Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, firewall management
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like FedRAMP and FISMA
Experience implementing IT governance models such as COBIT and ITIL
Ability to perform computer forensics investigations
Experience with incident response procedures
Understanding of disaster recovery planning
Excellent communication skills to articulate complex security concepts clearly
Ability to work in an Agile environment
Familiarity with scripting languages like Shell Scripting and PowerShell for automation
