Product Engineer (Manufacturing/Electronics Industry)

The Product Engineer performs standardized assignments involving a sequence of related operations to support engineering, quality, and manufacturing for new product launches and improvements.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with sales/product management to design and develop new products based on customer specific requirements
Create drawings and communicate with customers to ensure drawing/document approval is achieved
Drive the engineering change process by providing engineering drawings and following the engineering change process through completion
Complete BOMs and Routers for all new parts and revise for current parts as necessary
Ensure complete and efficient new product transfer to production floor by active participation in design reviews and validations in collaboration with process engineers
Actively participate in process/test development to ensure successful new product launch
Actively participate as a team-member transferring products from prototype to production stages
Collaborate with prototype lab to produce prototypes for customer approvals
Drive engineering changes through completion, per the requirements from design/production/quality teams
Assist in design and creation of tooling and fixtures as necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical product development required
Working knowledge of Solidworks required
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to interact professionally with all company functions including Engineering, Quality, Production, and Customer
Self-motivated, innovative, creative, and resourceful
Ability to meet multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must be US Citizen or permanent US resident
Preferred
Experience and demonstrated aptitude in all phases of design, testing and operations of electronics manufacturing a plus
Knowledge of basic machine shop equipment (mills, lathes, etc.) Machine programming experience a plus
