Responsibilities
Operate and monitor wastewater collection systems and facilities to ensure public safety and efficient performance
Perform inspections and provide general maintenance of wastewater collection systems and facilities. Evaluate inconsistencies and report problems to supervisor
Operate specialized equipment as required
Maintain facilities, equipment, and tools
Compile data and complete routine paperwork including logs and reports
Follow all established safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback
Demonstrate an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn. Participate in a supportive work environment
Exhibit integrity, ethics, and fiscal responsibility
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Up to one year of related experience for Apprentice Operator I
One or more years of related experience for Apprentice Operator II
Three or more years of related experience for Operator
Valid driver's license
Must apply for a Maryland Temporary Class 2 Wastewater Collection license within 30 days of employment for Apprentice Operator I
Successful completion of Class 2 Wastewater Collection State Operator exam for Operator
Maryland Temporary Class 2 Wastewater Collection license for Apprentice Operator II
Department of Transportation (DOT) physical card
State of Maryland Flagging Certification (or must obtain within 90 days of employment)
Bloodborne Pathogen training (or must obtain within 60 days of employment)
Preferred
Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
