Instructor, Auto Collision Repair & Refinish (PT)

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is Wisconsin's largest and most diverse technical college, offering a variety of programs. They are seeking a part-time instructor for the Auto Collision Repair and Refinish program to prepare and deliver instruction, manage the classroom, and develop curriculum while assessing student performance.

Responsibilities

Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities
Manage the classroom/laboratory
Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation
Manage equipment, supplies and materials
Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues
Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area
Attend departmental and institutional meetings
Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC
Support student organizations and activities
Develop relationships with business and industry
Complete program evaluation and follow-up
Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree with two (2) years (4,000 hours) of work experience as an Automotive Collision Repair and Finishing Technician with related Technical Diploma
Must have one of the following: Associate degree with five (5) years (10,000 hours) of work experience as an Automotive Collision Repair and Finishing Technician with related Technical Diploma
Must have one of the following: Technical diploma in Auto Collision Repair/Refinish or closely related field with seven (7) years (14,000 hours) of work experience as an Automotive Collision Repair and Finishing Technician
Must have relevant experience required with education listed above as an Automotive Collision Repair and Finishing Technician
At least one year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years OR two years of teaching Automotive Collision Repair and Finishing course work at the postsecondary level within the last five years
Must hold current ASE certification in B2, B3, and B4, or obtain within six months of employment
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record sufficient to be insured by MATC
Successfully complete online defensive driving course within first year of hire
Must embrace and demonstrate Standards of Teaching Excellence and the MATC Career Essentials in development and delivery of instruction
Experience with an Email system (Gmail, Outlook)
Experience with a voice mail system
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google
Experience with or willingness to learn online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters
Experience with Blackboard Ultra or other web-based course management systems
Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)
