Responsibilities
Own the design, development, and lifecycle management of AI-powered tools and agents across the organization
Implement data and document-intelligence workflows (document parsing, OCR, generative summarization, data extraction)
Build automated pipelines for recurring processes (e.g., development deliverables, design assumption updates, automated reporting)
Identify opportunities to apply generative AI, agents, and micro-automations to increase team productivity and build the business case for prioritizing the highest-impact initiatives
Establish technical patterns, standards, and reusable components for AI and automation solutions
Integrate with and own key elements of dashboards and analytics tools (Power BI, Excel Power Query, Python notebooks) supporting portfolio management, project design and decision-making
Lead analysis of internal and external data sources (energy markets, interconnection queues, land data, technical constraints) to inform product and development strategy, not just ad-hoc requests
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand and document workflows, pain points, and requirements
Lead end-to-end projects to streamline processes using AI or automation, from discovery and design through rollout and continuous improvement
Document workflows, maintain knowledge bases, and help establish best practices for AI adoption
Define and track success metrics (e.g., time saved, error reduction, adoption rates) for AI and automation initiatives
Work closely with cross-organizational teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
Act as a primary point of contact for AI & Data Solutions within Technical Services, coordinating with Development, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, and EPC
Support team training and change-management around new AI tools, templates, and workflows; create enablement materials and conduct training sessions as needed
Contribute to organizational readiness for large-scale AI transformation initiatives by advising leadership on opportunities, risks, and implementation considerations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Renewable Energy, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field required
4–7 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AI, automation, or advanced analytics solutions, ideally in an engineering, energy, or infrastructure environment
Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end solutions from requirements through deployment and adoption
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate ambiguity into structured actions and robust, scalable solutions
Experience with common AI and data tools
Familiarity with LLMs, APIs, and generative AI concepts
Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and other AI models into production-like workflows or tools
Python (pandas, NumPy, basic ML libraries), SQL, Power BI, Excel, etc
Proven ability to independently scope, prioritize, and deliver complex technical projects with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities, and deliver high-quality work
Excellent communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Curiosity, ownership mindset, and enthusiasm for renewable energy and sustainability
Comfort mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in AI, automation, and analytics
Preferred
Master's degree in relevant technical or data discipline; coursework or certifications in AI/ML, data engineering, or renewable energy systems; or equivalent hands-on experience implementing AI/automation solutions
Significant experience in solar, storage, energy markets, or utility-scale power systems (or a strong adjacent domain with demonstrable ability to ramp quickly)
Exposure to engineering or development tools and processes (PVSyst, Helioscope/other layout tools, interconnection queues, financial models) and ability to integrate AI/automation into these workflows
Experience with enterprise tools (Azure, SharePoint, Power Apps, Dataverse) and building solutions that integrate across these platforms
Familiarity with machine-learning workflows, data modeling, and/or natural language processing beyond basic prototypes. Demonstrated ability to build prototypes/MVPs that evolve into business-critical tools used by multiple teams or functions
