Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and administration of an effective EHS program that ensures risk reduction, and maintains a safe work environment for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
Maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, industrial hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations while also keeping positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators
Determine the leading and lagging indicators/metrics that are critical to building an actively engaged safety culture, and manage injury/incidents to zero. Ensure we have the tools, processes and templates in place to support
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submittal of all required safety and environmental reports, records, and fees as required
Facilitate employee site safety meetings and develop safety and environmental training. Co-lead root cause investigations, and ensure actions are executed in a time sensitive manner
Ensure EHS programs, policies, and procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and consistently implemented and enforced
Be a disciple of change control, by championing the internal risk assessment process. Submit new permit applications or renewals, while maintaining compliance with existing permit requirements
Qualification
Required
At least 8-10 years of experience in EHS
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, federal regulations, OSHA safety regulations, legal standpoint, CSFR regulations, EPA, and more
Extensive knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 regulations and requirements
Experience with EH audits, risk assessments and analyzing incidents
Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Highly analytical and go-getter attitude
Proficient in technology and tools to improve systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Preferred
Safety experience in a food and manufacturing environment highly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, related discipline or equivalent experience preferred
