Departmental Specialist 13 - Community Engagement Officer

Responsibilities

Serve as the Community Engagement Officer for the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential (MiLEAP)
Build and uphold relationships with disparately impacted populations and Tribal Nations, both internally and externally
Facilitate ongoing outreach and lead departmental programming, services, and provisions to these populations
Provide the department internally with training, policy recommendations, and information gathering

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
Four years of professional experience
Experience working with disparately impacted populations, including outreach, consultation, or partnership efforts
Experience working with Tribal Nations or Native American communities
Experience developing or facilitating internal training or professional development programs focused on cultural competence or engagement with Indigenous communities
Willingness and ability to travel statewide to attend outreach events, listening sessions, and meetings
