Responsibilities
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff
Oversees daily operations of all Governmental business applications and system tools that reside on the IBM System I power platforms
Performs general support, IBM system security, application security, custom report development for in-house requests and open record requests, custom programming, training, new software purchases and implementation, software upgrades for all business application modules, IBM system hardware upgrades and operating system upgrades, and technical refreshes
Ensures proper processing of payroll; oversees closing of month, quarter, and year end functions and other federally mandated payroll requirements
Oversees physical server operations and upgrades and server operating system updates and upgrades
Performs project management duties for the division in the planning, designing, and implementing of software automation projects; manages projects with division staff and other city staff, proposes new implementations, anticipates changes, and develops strategies to complete assignments and or projects; monitors project status and budget
Will be required to drive a City vehicle for city business use
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or 2 years of college coursework from an accredited college or university in Information Systems
At least five (5) years of experience in IBM systems/Windows OS administration or programming and business application support
Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment
