Email Program Manager (Hourly Contractor, Remote)
MergerAI is building AI-powered software for M&A due diligence and post-close integration. They are seeking an experienced Email Program Manager to own and execute their email marketing program, focusing on building workflows, improving deliverability, and generating measurable pipeline impact.

Responsibilities
Translate product messaging and GTM priorities into email campaigns that drive demo requests, conversions, and pipeline
Develop and manage segmented campaigns by persona (e.g., investment banking, private equity, corporate development, M&A advisors)
Write or refine high-quality B2B emails that are:
Short, clear, and compelling
Persona-specific (deal professionals)
Benefit-oriented and action-driven
Maintain message consistency across MergerAI brand voice and product positioning
Ensure strong list quality and segmentation strategies (industry, deal role, funnel stage, firm type/size, engagement)
Maintain and improve list hygiene (removing invalid addresses, suppressing unengaged leads, reducing spam complaints)
Help develop personalization approaches (dynamic fields, conditional sections, persona language)
Run continuous tests on:
Subject lines
Send times
CTAs
Layout and length
Offer positioning (case study vs demo vs “AI VDR walkthrough”)
Track performance and report weekly/biweekly metrics such as:
Open rate, click rate, CTOR
Reply rate (where applicable)
Conversion rate to demos / meetings
Pipeline influence (if integrated with CRM)
Monitor and improve deliverability (domain reputation, spam rate, bounce rate)
Ensure compliance with email best practices (CAN-SPAM; opt-outs; suppression lists)
Recommend improvements in authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) as needed
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience running email marketing programs (B2B preferred)
Strong copywriting skills for business/professional audiences
Experience with A/B testing and performance optimization
Comfortable operating independently as a contractor in a fast-moving environment
Highly organized with strong project management habits (deadlines, version control, approvals)
Preferred
Experience with tools such as HubSpot, Mailchimp, Customer.io, Marketo, or Apollo
Familiarity with CRM workflows and attribution (HubSpot + Salesforce is a plus)
Understanding of technical deliverability concepts (warming domains, suppression strategy, sender reputation)
