Responsibilities

Direct program activities; develop guidelines and procedures for CalWORKs and DSPS program implementation
Oversee department of Rehabilitation- Workability II contract
Provide support to the CalWORKs Assessment Program
Prepare annual program plan and all required reports
Maintain program data each term for MIS submission
Supervise, train, and evaluate program faculty and a large number of classified staff
Research, develop and draft program budget and narrative reports. Monitor and track program budgets to ensure compliance with state and local mandates
Communicate with program staff, students, and the campus community about program requirements, policies, and procedures
Ensure that staff maintains proper eligibility for students and follow required state guidelines
Provide enrollment verification for current students to case management agencies
Review Program records and student files to ensure compliance with audit processes
Respond to and resolve complaints from program participants, staff and faculty regarding delivery of services
Work with the Dean to develop and schedule appropriate curriculum offerings for Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS)
Conduct outreach for both CalWORKs and DSPS programs; update division’s website for both programs
Interpret federal and state law governing categorical programs to assure compliance
Communicate regularly with California Community College’s Chancellor’s Office to ensure adherence to state changes and new regulations
Monitor students’ academic progress for continuation of services for program participants
Convene and chair community agencies meetings
Assist the Dean in the development, implementation and assessment of Student Learning Outcomes
Collect & analyze Program data necessary for Program Review; complete and submit program review and required state reports
Attend regional and state training and meetings related to CalWORKs & DSPS
Serve on various campus committees and work groups as appropriate

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Must meet minimum qualifications for faculty in one of the disciplines offered by the district
Five years experience working with related student populations with at least two years management or supervisory experience including counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, career development, social welfare, or a related discipline, or higher degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of full-time, post-secondary teaching experience
A valid Class 'C' California Driver's License is required by the time of appointment
The incumbent may be required to work evenings (including attending board meetings) and other irregular hours including weekends and holidays
