The incumbent will conduct research, design and build high-resolution microscopes, and participate in manuscript writing and grant writing.

Responsibilities

Design and build high resolution microscopes

Utilize instruments for long-term measurements for organelle motility; develop analysis pipelines

Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations, grant writing, and research summary reports

Other duties as assigned, which may include attending scientific conferences and meetings, or graduate teaching

Required

Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related/relevant field

experience with microfabrication for live-cell applications

experience with quantitative analysis of protein expression levels

Currently holds unrestricted employment authorization for the U.S

Preferred

Strong background and research experience in generating and maintaining mammalian cell lines

experience in image analysis using Python or MATLAB

experience utilizing high-resolution optical imaging

experience with building optical system

practical experience with molecular cloning
