Responsibilities
Assist in the care of residents by carrying out certain activities of daily living, recreational, dietary, and light housekeeping services
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable)
Must demonstrate competency in all skill areas included in the Personal Care Home directives or be willing to be trained
Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification
Must maintain the standards of care and implement the policies and procedures of the facility and Allied Services
Ability to read, write and carry out directions required
Must demonstrate maturity, ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job and a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick
Must practice good personal hygiene
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff and residents
Must maintain confidentiality of resident information
Ability to transport self throughout facility is required
Preferred
Successful completion of a training program that meets standards set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Aging; •OR • experience listed below preferred
Minimum of one (1) year of Nurse Aide experience, including the ability to demonstrate competency in skill areas, may be substituted for training program listed above preferred
Valid PA driver's license and available transportation during all working hours preferred
