Program Director, Respiratory Therapy

Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate annual program goals, outcomes, and activities aligned with program, divisional, and college needs
Ensure full compliance with accreditation, certification, and regulatory requirements
Establish, implement, and enforce program policies and procedures related to admissions, progression, graduation, grading, clinical placement, and student conduct
Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, clinical sites, and community organizations; ensure contracts and agreements are current
Organize and support active program advisory committees
Lead curriculum innovation, instructional improvement, and ongoing program assessment to enhance student learning
Prepare and manage course schedules and semester offerings to meet student and program needs
Supervise and evaluate instructional delivery across all formats, including on-campus, off-campus, day, evening, weekend, and clinical settings
Oversee testing, evaluation, remediation, and academic policy enforcement
Ensure faculty qualifications meet program and accreditation standards
Assign, supervise, evaluate, and support full-time and adjunct faculty
Develop and monitor faculty workloads, schedules, office hours, and instructional responsibilities
Coordinate faculty recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development
Maintain faculty job descriptions and personnel documentation; request adjunct contracts
Monitor and maintain records related to faculty attendance, leave, and compliance
Identify and manage program resource needs, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and facilities
Prepare and administer program budgets; monitor expenditures
Maintain inventories and coordinate maintenance, security, and servicing of instructional equipment, labs, and specialized facilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from regionally accredited institution
Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential
State license issued by NC Respiratory Care Board
At least four years of full-time experience as a RRT with at least two years in clinical respiratory care
At least two years of experience in a teaching position in an accredited respiratory program as a faculty member or clinical preceptor
